"How a 51-Year-Old Woman From New Jersey Ended Up In Mississippi Starting An HVAC Business"
Pull up a chair and let me tell you my story...
A New Chapter After A Lifetime in New Jersey
I spent 50 years of my life in New Jersey. I went to college and built a 25-year career in the medical field. My life took a pivotal turn in 2020 when my father was diagnosed with cancer. I personally cared for him through the end of his life until he passed away in August 2025.
After losing him, I knew I needed a fresh beginning. I bought a home in Mississippi, packed our belongings into a U-Haul, and made the move south with my disabled son—who depends on me for some of his daily care—along with our pets.
Why Mississippi?
My brother had been living in Purvis with his family for about 15 years, so Mississippi wasn't completely unfamiliar. Still, moving from New Jersey was a big adjustment! In New Jersey, driving two hours gets you to the Shore, NYC, Baltimore, or the mountains. In Mississippi, driving two hours gets you... further into Mississippi!
Once I settled here, I toured a local technical college. Before I knew it, I was signing financial aid paperwork and preparing to start school. In January 2026, I began learning a trade I had never imagined for myself: heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
